Successful 9th Biennial Reunion
The Rmcana/Gmcana 9th biennial reunion at Anaheim, California was very successful. It reflected the wonderful organizational abilities of both RMCANA and GMCANA members. We congratulate Veeraiah Chundu, Prasad Chode, Ravi Alapati, Rangarao Tanguluri and Sandhya Tanguluri and many other members who were actively involved in making this reunion a success.
On Sept 4th Saturday, we had a ‘cruise trip’ - though we had some glitches we enjoyed that evening on the boat. Sunday was a pretty busy day - we had our general body meeting in the afternoon. After the general body meet we had photo session and Gala Banquet. After the dinner, the RMCANA out going President Dr. Ramamohan Kancherla gave his presidential address, which stressed about the future plans of united effort of all Medical Alumni of Andhra Pradesh in helping our medical schools and hospitals there. The formation, future developments of the Federation of Alumni, you will hear much more in future. We congratulate all the youngsters who performed magnificently - folk dances, songs, movie dances, carnatic music - you name it, every bit of the show was a class! Finally, ‘Swaravalli’ the movie song presentation by a group from Chicago gave a great performance; we enjoyed the program till late night.
Coming back to the General Body meeting - Dr. Lakshmipathi Reddy presided as Chief Guest. The two year successes and failures were enumerated by secretary. Though we were able to enroll new members during the TANA, ATA, Bi Annual alumni meets; it did not meet our expectations despite our best effort. We need more support from other members.
Dr.Kancherla spoke about some of the projects we had in our mind that can be done in Kakinada. We decided to finalize the details of the projects and present it at our meet in July 2005 at TANA. Several members contributed to the fund. New Donors are Dr. Navaneeta Gorrepati $1000: Dr. Jayashree Gorrepati $1000; Dr.Lakshmipathi Reddi $500; Dr. Sridevi Kodali $500; Dr. Satish Talluri $500; Dr. Satya Pratap Pokala $1000; Dr. Ravi Kolli $500, Dr. Aruna Bavineni $500.Another very encouraging part of the contributions was twenty one members pledged annual contribution of $500 each. We are very happy and very encouraged to inform you all about this news. We humbly request all the RMC alumni to seriously think about this way of donating money - which can be very fulfilling to you personally.
Anil Gogineni, Veeraiah Chundu and Ravi Chadalavada thank the members for electing us as your Joint secretary, Secretary and President for the coming two years.
We thank Dr. Ramamohan Kancherla for the wonderful service he has done for the past few years initially as secretary and latter as President. During his time he put back the organization back on track, updating the ever-changing addresses, keeping the accounts up to date, keeping the life membership fees untouched. He single handedly took care of the correspondence burden and other costs without touching the RMCANA account. He organized North East regional meet which was very well organized, had attendance greater than our national biannual meets. Not to miss his services, he will be serving as Chairman of Board of trustees.
